AP with WE Journey Continues

My experience with AP with WE so far has been eye opening. I am seeing how much of an impact we can make, even though we are a small group half way around the world. I am currently focusing on fundraising for supplies for the hospital in Uganda. More information about the specific hospital we are fundraising for can be found at https://www.somethingdeeperministries.org/

Although there are many ways we are helping Something Deeper Ministries, I’m focusing on fundraising. I was doing hand washing signs and fundraising prior, but we felt like it would be more efficient for another group to do the hand washing signs so that we could put all of our energy into fundraising and hopefully do a better job. We are promoting a website where people can go to donate money to our project. We are promoting this by distributing fliers to local businesses, putting it out on social media and an email blast. In addition to this we are planning an event that will involve our school community and help raise funds.

This experience has taught me a few things so far. First of all how lucky we are to have hospitals that have all the equipment we need when we are sick. Also, that putting together a event or fundraiser takes many people working together. Finally, even though we are a small group from far away, we can make a difference.

  1. I really enjoy your blog, I really like how you put a link to the Deeper Ministries, and talked about how this has impacted you greatly, because this blog has impacted me to. I also like how you explained what you are doing with the project and how you’ve changed to just fundraising. But I think you should have put a link to the Instagram and to the fundraising website so that people can donate to your group and share you around. But overall I liked your blog a lot.

  2. Hello John, I was reading your blog and I thought we had a similar experience with this project so far because at first, I thought I couldn’t make that big of an impact with our class project as well as seeing how we could help a hospital in Uganda (https://www.somethingdeeperministries.org/). But with doing this for a few months now it has really opened up my eyes along with yours that one person can make a big impact upon something.

  3. This was a good blog. Its good how you told of the impact it had on you doing this knowing how much of a change just one can make and how lucky we are to have the technology, equipment, etc. that many do not have. The role you have is well explained as well. Something you should probably add though is a link to the fundraising website.
